RFID reader in IP65 housing, supporting services such as HTTPS, SSL and more

The RFID IND2 is a more advanced version of the RFID IND LED/LCD series reader, which supports all the protocols of its predecessor (see Communications section), and can also operate in standalone mode.
In addition, the RFID IND2 supports SSL encryption, HTTPS, certificate control and emailing. The reader is available in a Wi-Fi version.

General features

Communication

The controller software allows you to read the status and control the device, using protocols:

  • HTTP/HTTPS server,
  • HTTP/HTTPS client,
  • Modbus RTU,
  • Modbus TCP,
  • MQTT client.

The protocols used make it easy to integrate with IT and automation systems. Configuration is available through the built-in Web server via a Web browser.

Additional information

A CSV file of 200 kB, or approximately 5,000 transponders, can be stored in the device’s memory. Using the available protocols, the user has several ways to download and read the stored logs. The reader has two digital inputs and two relay outputs, so it can be used to restrict access to a room or secure a machine.

The reader housing has no cable glands.

Transponder

  • Tag reading distance: up to 8cm from the front of the device (LED/LCD side),
  • Memory:
    • 200 kB card file: about 5 000 RFID tags,
    • 30 000 events.

Device configuration

At the first start-up, it is necessary to configure the device. The easiest way to configure Inveo devices is to use a Discoverer application. The program is available here. After installing and launching the application, all Inveo devices connected to the network will appear in the table. If the device has not been found, select another Interface or check the connection to the router.

If the devices have the Enable Remote Config service disabled, it is necessary to change the settings manually by changing the computer’s IP address. The precise device configuration instruction can be found in the manual.
