Work Time Recorder supporting services such as HTTPS, SSL, emailing

The RFID RCP2 is an advanced version of the RFID RCP series reader, retaining full compatibility with the protocols of its predecessor (see Communications section) and offering an additional standalone mode. In addition, the RFID RCP2 supports SSL encryption, HTTPS, certificate control and allows emailing. A Wi-Fi enabled version of the reader is also available.

Purpose of the device

Industry, services, retail and logistics are just a few of the industries where the reader can be used effectively. The device can act as a tool for logging access to machines, controlling access to various premises (e.g. warehouses), a component of a loyalty system, or act as a time and attendance recorder, offering versatile applications. By using the reader’s own application or supported protocols, the user gains the ability to precisely control virtually every aspect of the device, including the display, beeper, inputs and outputs. In addition, thanks to the built-in memory, the user has full access to stored logs, further enhancing the device’s functionality.

General features

Communication

The controller software allows status reading and control of the device using the following protocols:

  • HTTP/HTTPS server,
  • HTTP/HTTPS client,
  • Modbus RTU,
  • Modbus TCP,
  • MQTT client.

The protocols used facilitate integration with IT and automation systems. Configuration is available via the built-in web server.

Additional information

A CSV file of 200 kB can be stored in the unit’s memory, which translates into approximately 5000 transponders.

The user has the option to utilize different protocols for downloading and reviewing stored logs. Equipped with two digital inputs and two relay outputs, the Time & Attendance Logger can serve purposes like access control or machine security. The housing of the reader lacks cable inputs.

Device configuration

On first start-up, it is necessary to configure the device. The easiest way to configure Inveo devices is to use the Discoverer software, available here. After installing and running the application, all Inveo devices connected to the network will appear in a table. If a device is not found, select a different interface or check the connection to the router/switch.

If the devices have Enable Remote Config disabled, it is necessary to change the settings manually by changing the IP address of the computer. Please refer to the user manual for detailed instructions on how to configure the device.
